Fresh water cooling extends the life of the engine. The engine stops rusting and in addition, the engine works at a higher temperature than if you cool with sea water. An engine is designed to work with approx. 80 degree heat. Thanks to fresh water cooling, you get a higher efficiency and thus lower fuel consumption. Another advantage is that you can connect hot water heater and defroster to the system. In addition, a boat with fresh water-cooled engine has a significantly higher secondary value.
