Only a very small amount of water in a diesel tank is sufficient to start the growth of microorganisms that can double very quickly in the water and form mucus and so-called "diesel animals" that spread into the fuel system. The consequence can be engine problems as a result of blocking and corroding filters, hoses and diffusers.
1000ml is enough for 4000 liters of diesel.
